Patient Participation Group

The aim of the Larwood Health Partnership Patient Participation Group (LHP-PPG) is to provide a two-way communication path between the practice and patients, asking patients’ views and responding to their recommendations in order to shape and improve our services and facilities in a way that meets patients’ demands and expectations from our surgery.

If you feel that you have the time to join our group and would like to be more involved, please email katrinabird@nhs.net or amy.bierton@nhs.net  for more details and you would be welcome to attend our meetings.

You can give as much or as little commitment as you want and your feedback is always greatly appreciated.

  • We would like to know how we can improve our service to you and how you perceive our surgery and staff.

  • We remain committed to providing the best possible care for all our patients and we feel that an important way to do this is to listen to our patients.

  • All of our participation groups are currently held virtually.

  • We will ask the members of the representative groups some questions from time to time, such as what you think about our opening times or the quality of the care or service you received.

  • We will contact you via email and keep our surveys succinct so it shouldn’t take too much of your time.

  • We aim to gather around a hundred patients from as broad a spectrum as possible to get a truly representative sample.

  • We need young people, workers, retirees, people with long term conditions carers and people from non-British ethnic groups.

  • We have had an active Patient Participation Group since 2008 and usually meet every other month.

The LHP-PPG are your representatives.

If you would like to make any suggestions or if you would like to discuss anything with a member of the patient group in confidence please email katrinabird@nhs.net or amy.bierton@nhs.net your details and we will pass your information on to the group for them to get in touch with you.

The LHP-PPG have input into how we communicate with patients and any changes to services we offer. Some of the input they have had include:

  • Wipe clean chairs – These are now available in some of our surgeries.

  • Touchscreens – the PPG decided to have how many patients are in front of you when you check in using the touchscreens – giving you an idea of wait times.

  • Teenage Information – help with what information we provide to teenagers.

  • Carers- what information and support we provide for carers.

  • Website – they helped input what information to be put on the website.

  • Nurse Survey – the PPG suggested a nurse survey to allow patients to feedback about their appointment with the nurse.

  • Media Screens – they helped input what information to be put on the Media screens displayed across our sites.

  • Noticeboards – what information we provide to our patients.

  • The car parking at Larwood now has an extra 29 spaces at the back of the surgery for staff parking enabling patients more access to spaces at the front.
