Tests & Test Results

Most blood tests can be done at Bassetlaw District Hospital without an appointment and forms can now be sent to you by either email or text if you have agreed to this method of communication.

For patients that are not able to attend the hospital we have some appointments available to book in surgery.

For X-rays the clinician at the surgery will create an electronic form which goes directly into the hospital systems. You can then attend the X-ray department between 08:30 and 19:30. The service can be busy, so there may be a wait. The walk-in service is for X-rays and bloods only - you will receive an appointment for any other tests requested.

Test Results

Once you have had your test, the results are sent  to the practice electronically.  Once the clinician has seen your result and filed them they will be available through SystmOnline or through the NHS App.

If the doctor wishes you to repeat the test or speak to you, we will be in touch to book a telephone appointment with you.

We recommend opting in to receiving text messages from the surgery as this is the most convenient and quickest way to communicate. To do this, please contact us using our Online Access Tool or call the surgery on 01909 500 233.

Test Types

There are many different blood tests available. Click below to go to Lab Tests Online, an online glossary of the tests you may be offered.
